A fantastic piece of Rolling Stones history: a vintage 3.5″ x 3.5″ glossy color candid snapshot of Keith Richards, photographed in front of a hotel elevator and boldly signed in black ballpoint, Love, Keith Richard. The photograph is annotated on the reverse in a collector’s hand, Nov. 2, 1968, placing this intimate snapshot squarely in one of the most important periods of The Rolling Stones’ career. 1968 was the year the band released. An album that became a landmark in their evolution and one of the defining records of the late 1960s. The timing makes this especially interesting for Stones collectors. The photograph was taken just weeks before the legendary filming of. The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. In December 1968, the event that featured Richards performing in the one-off supergroup The Dirty Mac alongside John Lennon, Eric Clapton, and Mitch Mitchell. It captures Richards at a pivotal moment – right at the height of the Stones’ late-1960s creative period and immediately before one of the most memorable and unusual performances of his career. The photo remains in fine condition, with a light crease toward the top edge and adhesive remnants to the reverse, as shown in the photographs.
