Well known and a personal friend of many of the stars that she collected autographs from she had unprecedented access to backstage areas and VIP Events that enabled her to amass a vast collection of autographs with consequent impeccable provenance. For many years Yukis husband Colin was Eric Claptons assistant tour manager working on many of his 1980s concerts & tours. On August 26th 1990 Clapton played the Alpine Valley Music Theatre Wisconsin alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. Following the show Colin Smythe along with Claptons agent Bobby Brooks his bodyguard Nigel Browne and Stevie Ray Vaughan boarded a helicopter bound for Chicago. Tragically the helicopter crashed shortly after take-off killing all on board. Yuki was friends with many artists from that era and continued to attend gigs and fill her numerous autograph books.
