An extremely Gibson Mona-Steel guitar string packet that has been autographed on the reverse by The Rolling Stones and original band member Ian Stewart. The original guitar string is still in the packet. The packet and string was formerly the property of one of The Rolling Stones. The autographs were obtained backstage at The Rolling Stones performance that took place at Alexandra Palace, London on 26. The signatures comes with a detailed letter from the original recipient that reads Rolling Stones autographs on Gibson Mona-steel packet with A steel wound string belonging to The Rolling Stones 26. To Whom It May Concern; I was at the Rolling Stones All Night Rave held at Alexandra Palace on 26. June 1964 organised by The Rolling Stones Fan Club to coincide with the release of their hit record Its All Over Now. It was the original line up of Jagger, Richards, Brian Jones, Wyman, Watts and Ian Stewart. At the beginning of their set I was standing on the stage with a crowd of fans and the Stones were right in front of me. After a couple of numbers, the crowd around them began to close in on them at which point they were taken off the stage and everyone on it was asked to leave. Once the stage had been completely cleared they came back on and continued to play. Other artists appearing that night were: John Lee Hooker, John Mayall, Alexis Korner, Millie and Jimmy Powell and the Five Dimensions. After the Stones had played I slipped backstage to their dressing room, knocked on the door and asked for their autographs. They were all there in the dressing room. The door was pushed to and I patiently waited trying to peer round to see them. After a short wait the guitar string and its packet were handed out to me. To my delight they had all signed the guitar string packet. I have treasured it for over 50 years but on thinning out my collection of memorabilia I have finally decided to part with it. The guitar string packet measures 8.25cm x 8.25cm (3.25 inches x 3.25 inches). The condition is very good. Our Grading System Explained. Mint = As new. Near mint = Almost like new with one or two very minor flaws. Excellent = Minor wear yet looks attractive and is perfectly usable. Very Good = Some wear and tear but overall presentable and usable. Good = Apparent wear and tear but with obvious deterioration of the condition. Poor = Extremely worn. A plus or minus after the grading indicates that the condition is marginally higher or lower than the stated grade.
