A one page letter in black felt tipped pen in the hand of Bill Wyman that is dated 9. The letter is written on Beaufort Arms Hotel, Monmouth letterhead and reads: Dear Zena, many thanks for your nice letter that I picked up from the fan club today. Hope you liked the show at Southampton, + continue to like us in the coming months too. Sorry there are no Souvenires [sic] I hope the autographs + the letter to make up for it. Thanks again for writing, look after yourself + keep smiling, Bill Wyman. The letter is accompanied by a complete set of Rolling Stones autographs in black felt tipped pen on Beaufort Arms Hotel, Monmouth letterhead. Piecing together the story of the letter and autographs is fascinating. The Stones stayed at the Beaufort Arms Hotel, Monmouth on the 11. September 1964 after performing in Cardiff, Wales on 11. September 1964, they were en route to perform in Liverpool on 13. Bill would have collected the paper at the Beaufort Arms Hotel and then kept it in his luggage for most of the remain of the tour. Zena then went to watch the group at the Gaumont Theatre, Southampton on 4. After the concert she then wrote a letter to the Stones and mailed it to the groups fan club which was based in London. The Stones then performed at the Odeon Theatre, Lewisham, London on 8. October 1964 which is where they would have been given their fan club letters. After this performance they travelled the 80 mile journey to Ipswich to perform at the Gaumont Theatre on 9. Either before or after this performance is where Bill found the time to read through the fan letters and reply to Zena and obtained the groups autographs for her. Each piece of letterhead paper measures 15cm x 21cm (5.9 inches x 8.25 inches). Each sheet has been folded and laid flat. There are two 3.75cm (1.5 inch) slices on each page from where Zena opened the envelope. The condition is very good plus. The first item is charged at the normal rate. Our Grading System Explained.
